(Montréal, July 28, 2006) – Saputo Inc. has completed the transaction announced on
July 7, 2006 for the acquisition of the activities of Boulangerie Rondeau Inc. and Biscuits Rondeau Inc. (“Rondeau”), that manufacture, commercialize and distribute fresh tarts and fresh cookies under the Rondeau, Big Daddy, Original, Authentic, Good and Simple brands, as well as other private brands from their facilities located in the province of Québec.
Founded in 1995, Rondeau is a leader in the production of fresh cookies in Canada. With annual revenues reaching approximately CDN $14 million, the company employs a total of 145 people in its two plants located in Laval and Quebec City (Canada). These assets will complement the current activities of Saputo’s Bakery Division; the most important manufacturer of snack-cakes in Canada and a leader in the cereal bar market in Quebec.
